The Foundation for Receiving the Kingdom

This lesson explores the parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:1-11 to glean insight into receiving the kingdom.  The four soils represent people who are hearers, the seed is God’s word, and the sower is God.  Each soil (hearer) responds differently to the same seed (word of God) with an outcome of no harvest from the path, rocky, and weedy soils, and an abundant harvest from the good soil.  Questions posed include: (1) what kind of soil are you; (2) what kind of fruit are you producing; and (3) what is your response?
