1) What are Learning Objectives?

Objectives are very specific, they state clear actions that the student must take to be successful.

2) Why use Learning Objectives?

To gauge and to assess what your student(s) know by the end of the period/week/month/semester and if you all are going to achieve said goals.

3) How are goals different than objectives?

Goals are the overarching aim that is not measurable without specific clear actions repeated (your learning objectives).
