Leid Stories—Reparations: Just How Will America Atone for Its ’Original Sin’?—07.10.19

NBC News yesterday asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell whether his family's history of slave ownership in any way influences his opposition to reparations for slavery. 

McConnell's response was that former President Barack Obama also is opposed to reparations, and his [white] mother's ancestors also were slaveholders.

Is this a real argument, and does it properly address what will be done about the matter of reparations?
