Mid-Session 9 Oct 19: ASX 200 retreats as US – China Trade deal hopes fade

Local shares followed Wall Street lower as the trade dispute between the US & China escalated in the last day. Further undermining sentiment was the latest consumer confidence numbers which saw a substantial decline in the last month.
