(Okay, as I was preparing to preach this week on the book of Jude, it was a temptation to somehow turn the points into a parody of the old song by the Beatles. I gave in to the temptation. At least I didn't sing it at church!)

Don’t be like Cain

He was jealous and killed his brother

The minute you let hatred into your heart

Then you can start to be a false teacher

Don’t be like this

Balaam’s greed to go and get more

The minute you sell out kindred or kin

Then you have sinned and you’re a false teacher

 

So any time you’re feeling cruel

Hey dude be cool

Don’t be like Korah in rebellion

For don’t you know that Moses can

Be God’s chosen man

God carries the world upon his shoulder

Help those who doubt

Snatching others out of the fire

To others show mercy mixed with fear

Then you can steer clear of those false teachers
