In this episode Mary Schaeffer, AP Now founder, and podcast host, is joined by Jamie Radford, CEO of the AP Association (a global organization headquartered in the UK) to talk about AP Appreciation Week (May 18-22). Radford revealed the theme, Be Bold, Be Crazy, and said he hoped that everyone would join the celebration. Because so many are in isolation (and some furloughed) the morale-boosting aspects are just as important as the educational components.
Both organizations shared they are creating Walls of Appreciation where managers can share their praise for their staff. At AP Now short messages of appreciation can be sent to publisher@ap-now.com for inclusion by either managers or service providers. To be included in the AP Association’s wall, simply post a picture or saying using the hashtag #APAppreciationWeek and it will be picked up for consideration through the miracles of technology.
The AP Association is planning several talks during each day of the week. It is urging professionals to sign up even if they find the time unattractive as they will be given access to the recording. AP Now is planning one talk on Thursday (in conjunction with its AP Isolation event) and daily giveaways (1 Fraud Prevention Cheat Sheet and 3 Games to play either by yourself or with your team).
Radford explained the different themes for each day of AP Appreciation week and the talks he has planned around them. (Appreciation, Collaboration, Leadership, Fraud Prevention, and The New World).
The podcast closes with the speakers urging listeners to sign up for both celebrations by going to the websites and using the link on the homepage. AP Now’s games include AP Naming in An Alternate Universe If AP Terms Were Ice Cream and AP Remote Worker Bingo.
