In today's episode let's dive into what I learned from my trip to Orleans, besides how wise I was to pack some great walking shoes. Having experienced 22-years living my life through my emotional mind - where impulse control was something my friends and I laughed about not having, all the way to having a lack of caring about the consequences around my actions...I know all to well what it is like to blackout in an environment full of predatory hustlers looking to take advantage of people in an inebriated state of mind.
We're gonna discuss the triune brain, how the reptilian and mammalian brain will lead you down that dark alley where nothing good happens. I'll pepper in some information on how dopamine and serotonin are the drivers to your impulsive decision making, and then I'll finish by reminding you that if you expect sobriety and recovery to be as amazing as people talk about then you are going to have to push yourself to do things you have never done!
