AM Report 15 May 18: Markets stabilised, gaming, tech and energy move higher.

US sharemarkets rose on Monday but ended off the highs. There was optimism on a perceived easing of trade tensions with China. Energy and healthcare sectors rose but defensive sectors were generally weaker. There were a number of M&A deals in the news. After being up 163 points, the Dow Jones closed higher by 68 points or 0.3%. The S&P 500 index rose by 0.1% but the Nasdaq index rose by 8 points or 0.1%.
