Wednesday, I spoke about the word achieve. Today I am talking about being relentless.
A person who is relentless, is someone who never stops trying to get better at what they do. For instance, My goal with this podcast, to be positive and try to impact, help or change as many lives as I can along the way. So I am relentless in my efforts, research, in everything I do.
Life is a battle with ups and downs, good times and bad, especially when you try to achieve something. We tend to see everything BAD that happens when we are trying to just see results. Celebrate the small accomplishments, and do not give up!
When it comes to change, something we really want to accomplish, we want the results right away.
If we even last a month, with no results, or small results we give up. Why?
I believe it is because we live in a world of instant gratification. Almost everything in our lives comes fast and easy. You can go get a meal, or coffee in under 10 minutes, my pleasure.
Or have your groceries, the shopping done for you and delivered to your home. Or if you have the money, have that fat sucked right out of your body! But those results will never last.
When you are relentless and go after what you want. Not giving up when it gets tuff - those results mean something!
So, what does it mean to relentlessly go after that dream, a new habit or a new life? People who have that relentless spirit have some common traits.
- It means not giving up when things get tough or boring
- Remember I told you about thinking ahead of time about what your obstacles might be so when and if they do - you have a plan. When you are chasing your dreams, life will try to knock you down. They are adaptable to change.
- They are patient and kind to themselves. Your time will come.
- They TAKE ACTION
- They are self-aware - I think this is kind of where it all starts, right? If you understand who you are, your strengths and weaknesses, you will then know what you might want to improve.
- When you are relentless in your pursuit of achieving your goals, it will make others either uncomfortable because they are lazy or you will have others who because they are lazy might take your ideas, thoughts etc. Do not let their lack of passion and pure laziness in their own lives bring your down.
Surround yourself with other people, books or podcasts that are also relentless pursuit of their goals.
Whatever your goals or dreams are, when you become relentless and decide that you will walk through any obstacle and endure any pain to get what you want, no matter how long it takes, you will get there, you will achieve your goal/goals!
