Morning Report 23 Jul 20: US sharemarkets were higher on Wednesday

Investors continue to fret about the rising number of COVID-19 cases. And not helping sentiment was an increase in tensions between China and the US. In addition, Congressional Democrats and Republicans reportedly remained divided on the details of a new stimulus package expected to cost $1 trillion. The Dow Jones index rose by 165 points or 0.6%. TheS&P500 index lifted by 0.6%. And the Nasdaq index rose by 26 points or 0.2%.
