Mary Beth Franklin is a frequent public speaker addressing both financial industry and consumer groups on critical retirement topics such as Social Security claiming strategies, tax-efficient withdrawals, income security, career transitions and retiree health costs.

An award-winning journalist and Certified Financial Planner, Ms. Franklin is a Contributing Editor with InvestmentNews, a leading publication for financial advisers. She writes regularly on retirement, Social Security and Medicare. She is the author of Maximizing Your Social Security Retirement Benefits ebook and the winner of the prestigious Neal award for her coverage of Social Security issues. She was honored with a WISER Hero award in 2016 by the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement and was named one of the country’s top retirement income thought leaders by the American College of Financial Services in 2017.

Previously, Ms. Franklin served as the tax and retirement editor for Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine and editor of Kiplinger’s annual Retirement Planning Guide.
