Eamon De Valera Part III: His Escape Into Politics

This is the third episode in a series regarding Irish politician Eamon De Valera.  The Rising is over, but Eamon's venture into politics is just beginning.  Join us to discuss the aftermath of the rising, the impromptu firing squads that turned public opinion against the British, De Valera's coup over Sinn Fein, and his daring escape from Lincoln Prison. Finally, we will travel with the Long Fellow as he skips out on the Irish War of Independence in order to tour America; looking for international support for the Republican cause.  We finish with Eamon's role in the treaty negotiations to end the Irish war of Independence - spawning the Irish Civil War.  The material in this podcast serves to cover the International Baccalaureates' paper two topic 8 - Independence Leaders.
