The One About Early Childhood Literacy and Language

Early language and literacy (reading and writing) development begins in the first 3 years of life and is closely linked to a child’s earliest experiences with books and stories. Literacy opens the door to a brighter future and these early years are critical in shaping children’s development and lifelong learning potential. 

In this episode we welcome Dr. Anne van Kleeck, a professor at UNT Dallas in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and Director of The Callier Center for Communication Disorders.  Dr. van Kleeck’s research is related to preschooler's academic language skills that are vital for later reading comprehension and general academic success.
