AM Report 12 Feb 18: US sharemarkets ended higher in a volatile session.

There was no major economic data but investors responded to news that lawmakers had agreed to a budget deal and an increase in the debt cap. There will not need to be another vote on the debt cap for 13 months. The Dow Jones swung through a range of 1,022 points but ended the day higher by 330 points or 1.4%. The S&P 500 index rose by 1.5%
