There’s a difference between feeling, processing, and learning from our emotions and thoughts AND getting trapped in them.    I invite you to try this when you feel triggered and are experiencing an uncomfortable emotion:   Write down your thoughts on paper to gain some distance and awareness.   Describe WHERE you feel the sensations of the emotion in your body:   head?  temples? neck? shoulders? back? chest?
