During his tenure, a crisis struck his town. A building caught fire at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West. It led to an ammonium nitrate explosion occurred that leveled about half the town. In his new book, Anchor Point: How To Lead with Faith, Find Strength, and Rebuild with Hope After Crisis, he explains what he learned as he reflects on the challenges of navigating the immediate response and subsequent recovery and rebuilding efforts.
