Lesson 158: Today I learn to give as I receive

Stop and think for a moment and then ask yourself what do I need? Do you need money? Do you need love? Do you need someone to talk to? Do you need healing? Do you need forgiveness? What do you need?

In this lesson we are told that giving and receiving are one and the same. Oneness is Sameness. If you are giving from Christ's vision you receive love. If you are not giving from Christ's vision you are reinforcing guilt.

The only thing missing in your life is that which you are not giving. You cannot have what you are not willing to give.

Jesus tells us in the Course “To give and to receive are one in truth”(lesson 108). Jesus being the Way-shower is constantly reminding us throughout this Course that giving equals receiving because of the oneness of love.

By the law of Reciprocity when I forgive, I am forgiven. Likewise if I hold you as guilty, I reinforce the guilt in my own mind.

We can’t hear it enough. Giving and receiving are one, not only for the Holy Spirit, whose light reflects Heaven's Oneness, but also for the ego.

From the Manual Jesus reminds us that “To teach is to demonstrate.… From your demonstration others learn, and so do you.… You cannot give to someone else, but only to yourself, and this you learn through teaching ”

The results you find yourself in reflect what you are demonstrating, and it all boils down to this: you choose love or you follow fear.
