However, he has also had a parallel life doing endurance stunts, apparently for real without illusion (though some believe otherwise). One of the ironic things about this stunt is that he was both alone in isolation but was also surrounded by a daily throng of visitors who kept him going as he grew weaker, and kept him entertained as he watched the world go by…
