US Market Close 23 Dec 16: Flat start expected for the local market after falls on Wall St

US sharemarkets fell on Thursday as the Dow Jones receded further away from the psychological 20,000 point level. The S&P 500 index was lower by 0.2%, while the Nasdaq fell by almost 24 points or 0.4%.
