MEPs in the European Parliament have condemned plans to give certain EU states rebates on their contributions to the overall EU budget.
This morning the Parliament debated the outcome of the recent EU Summit which ended early on Tuesday.
Leaders of the EU27 reached unanimous agreement on the EU’s long-term budget which will run from 2021 to 2027.
They also agreed that lump sum rebates would be maintained for Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Sweden. That’s angered MEPs such as the Fianna Fail MEP Barry Andrews.
