AM Report 20 Sep 18: US stocks lift & finish just shy of record highs

The US sharemarket continued to lift as US-China trade tariffs announced in recent days not as bad as some feared. Growth areas of the market rose, with banks lift on higher yields, miners up on firmer commodity prices and trade sensitive stocks like Caterpillar improving.
