Romans 8:28-30

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (NIV 84)

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1 What do you think about being "predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son"?

2 In John 5:36-40 how do these words strike you: "...yet you refuse to come to me to have life?" What have you seen and heard which compels you to follow Jesus?

3 "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven." What do yo think about that line? What might have initially prompted someone to say that?

4 Take a look at these three statement (from Dallas Willard). How is this challenging to you?

Jesus never taught that we can decide to just enjoy forgiveness at his expense and have nothing more to do with him.

If we don't become disciples, we remain locked in defeat as far as moral intentions are concerned.

Only avid discipleship to Jesus through the Holy Spirit brings inward transformation to our thoughts, feelings, character.
