Hi there. Today, I will be talking on the topic of change. You may have heard me talk about change many times on this podcast before.
One of the reasons for this is I am personally invested in and amazed at the inter-mechanics of changing and all that goes into a person creating lasting change in their lives. We all want to experience the Joy of transforming our lives positively. We may want to return to school and build a thriving business that allows you to care for your family and give back to your community.
I can’t talk about anyone else, only from my own experience. I have failed at many things, but it has not stopped me from trying to improve.
Some of us want our lives to improve, but for others, change eludes us.
Psychology, physiology, Physicality, Mentality, Spirituality.
Does any of that sound familiar to you? Some of us may even see how change can work for us; it is almost in our grasp, but something happens, and it doesn’t seem possible for me. You may think out of frustration, and out of frustration, we may even give up and stop trying.
There are behaviors that many may want to change, like;
Lose weight
Grow in our spirituality and get closer to God.
Exercise
Stop drinking
Stop getting high
Escape toxic relationships
To name a few.
Perhaps you are more fed up and experienced; I will stop completely or will work on it;
I am done with all the sweets.
I will lose 30 pounds.
I will spend more time with my kids and family.
I will work on my marriage.
I will read the bible more.
I will stop drinking, even if it kills me.
I will stop being late.
Just to name a few. Whatever you are going through, you can create your list. I am saying this for illustration purposes. But in reality, you have your own. And it is real.
What is so frustrating is you have worked hard trying to create the change you want, only to experience the same sad results. You may even wonder why you find it hard to change what you are trying to change. I understand your frustration.
Many people experience this, especially around New Year, only to fizzle out in ninety days. Why? This can go on for years. You may even resent that about yourself and start to think something might be wrong with you.
It's like being on a hamster wheel, always trying to reach a destination and see the result only to find you are still in the same position without the change you hoped for and in an ever-ending cycle.
What do you want to change?
Why do you want to change,
How would you feel when making the change?
How do you see yourself right now?
How would you see yourself when you make the change?
Why is it important to you to feel that?
