As the detectives dig into Lily’s final hours, they uncover a handwritten babysitting list posted at a local grocery store—a list with four names, and four almost-victims. Someone posed as a worried parent, called each girl, and waited for one to say yes.

But this wasn’t about childcare. It was a hunt.

And Lily wasn’t chosen by accident.

With the help of sardonic coroner Dr. Kendall, sharp-eyed private investigator Johnny Chandler, and the growing fear of a pattern reaching back years, Mick and Mack race to piece together the truth before the killer disappears back into the city’s sprawl.
