Ireland’s neutrality cannot be compromised by any EU moves towards greater defence and security integration. That’s the warning from the Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes. They also want the EU to act where NATO is unwilling to do so. The proposals follow previous recommendations made by the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker for a common EU Army.
