Binding the Strong man - Spiritual Warfare

In Luke 4:31-37 we confront the first of many demons in the Gospels. Luke considers this such an important topic that in his Gospel, this is the first Miracle mentioned. By this time, in Jesus' journey, he has turned water into Wine in Cana, He has healed the sick, he has revealed supernatural knowledge of hearts and minds and He has just left a mob with the intent to kill him in His hometown without a scratch. Luke, however, is focused on binding the strong man. (Mark 3:27)

Almost like an old familiar rival, Jesus is confronted by a demon who knows Him and the brief exchange is enough to ripple throughout the area. News travels fast. If you just read this, it's a "wait, what!" moment. Let's dig into what just happened...
