MEPs this week voted for a series measures to ensure that women’s specific needs are met throughout the asylum process. The measures include segregated sleeping and sanitation facilities, female interviewers, translators and interpreters and childcare services during the asylum process. The Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune says that the difficulties faced by vulnerable female refugees must be taken into account.
