Morning Report 18 March 20: Investors take heart from central bank & government action

US sharemarkets posted solid gains on Tuesday. Investors were encouraged by moves by the Federal Reserve to buy debt directly from companies. Investors were also encouraged by news that a US$1 trillion fiscal stimulus package is being considered.
