The “back to basics” lifestyle has recently gained popularity worldwide. “Going minimalist” and getting rid of possessions simplify our lives and give us time to focus on what matters.
Yet as exciting as it can be to whittle down our belongings, does it really bring happiness?
My guest Light Watkins believes that it won’t unless we do the inner work to cultivate happiness on the inside. He’s here to tell us more about his philosophy.
Light Watkins has been active in the wellness space since 1998, first as a practitioner, later as an apprentice to his Vedic Meditation teacher, and finally, in 2007, as a meditation teacher himself. He became nomadic in 2018 and now travels the world giving talks on happiness, mindfulness, inspiration, and meditation. He writes articles on meditation and happiness, leads sold-out meditation training and retreats, and produces The Shine—a global pop-up inspirational variety show with a mission to inspire.
During our discussion, Light introduces us to an “inside-out” path to getting rid of inner clutter and living a more fulfilled life. Spiritual Minimalism, as he calls it, will get you aligned with your values and lead you to a life-changing adventure.
