Mid-Session 1 Apr 20: Aussie shares are off to a solid start

All sectors are currently improving on Wednesday. Energy stocks are standing out, lifting by 8.2% after falling more heavily than any other sector in March. A ~60% slump for the oil price from the February highs was to blame. The price of the commodity has fallen partly on demand concerns as COVID-19 continues and as both Saudi Arabia and Russia continue their price war. Big banks are higher at lunch, but have had a shaky start to the session.
