Morning Report 5 Mar 19; US Stocks retreat as investors weigh market upside after recent rally

 

US sharemarkets fell on Monday, reversing early gains. Investors
took profit following disappointing economic data. Other traders
blame technical factors for driving markets lower - there have been
solid gains since Christmas without a pullback. With an hour of trade
to go the Dow Jones index was lower by 250 points or 1.0% after
earlier being up 129 points. The S&P500 index was lower by 0.6%.
And the Nasdaq index was down by 39 points or 0.5%.
