This is a story of activism, community involvement, and inclusion – the Journey of Norma Staaf! Today on the show KORE Women features Norma Staaf, who is a graduate of Purdue University, a writer for her community newspaper, the Idaho County Free Press, she teaches public speaking adult outreach classes at Lewis and Clark State College, she has traveled the world, and to add to this very impressive bio in January of 2019, she organized the first “People’s March for inclusion and equality” in Grangeville, Idaho. As the daughter of an immigrant, Norma’s world is a much bigger place than her own backyard. She has travelled to 49 of 50 states and nearly 20 foreign countries including studying a year of college study in southern England, trekking in Nepal, attending the summer Olympics in Athens and seeing the wonder of wildlife on the Galapagos Islands. She has travelled several times to meet extended family in her mother’s home country of Estonia. She continues to be amazed by the kindness of strangers when she travels. The words, “we’ve never done it that way” or “people don’t do that here” don’t phase Norma, who strives to see the good in people and remain hopeful for the future. KORE Women talks to Norma about her journey as a woman, a love of activism, and how pursuing community action has evolved in her life. She is wise, she is proactive, and she has an important story to tell! List now!
