Gaea Star Crystal #185 features our talented friend from Rhode Island Gino Cicchetti on mandolin and acoustic guitar, Mariam Massaro on vocals, ukelele, 12-string guitar and native flute, Craig Harris on congas and marimba and Robert Sherwood on piano. We begin with the mysterious “Luna’s Majesty- Eclipse”, an evocation of October’s lunar eclipse. Mariam’s “Surrender” follows a stately and melancholy piece that features beautiful, lyrical native flute from Mariam and sympathetic commentary from Gino’s mandolin. “And The Day Begins” is a lovely, piano-driven ballad with a pretty lyric from Mariam and “Feel All Right” is a jaunty piece that rides along on top of Craig’s congas and Gino’s tight acoustic guitar. “Oh The Sun Is Calling” is a song of Mariam’s that is given a long-overdue airing. Next up is today’s centerpiece, “Jaguar In The Water”, a song of great atmosphere and depth that features great contributions from the entire band and “Pierre” is a shaggy dog story of great charm.
