In 2022 Border Patrol seized 5,091 pounds of fentanyl. 60 percent of the 8,425 seized nationwide. Mexican cartels: Precursors are imported from China and other countries and then pressed into pills, powder, or mixed into other drugs at massive, industrial-scale labs. In a recent six-day period, Border Patrol intercepted four separate vehicle loads of fentanyl weighing between 100 and 250 pounds. San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, — Fentanyl-related overdose deaths, have increased by 2,375 percent in San Diego County, from 33 in 2016 to at least 817 in 2021. Overdose deaths from opioids increased to 75,673 in the 12-month period ending in April 2021, up from 56,064 the year before.  Join Tom and Shane every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM Mountain Time for the news and information you won’t find anywhere else.
