Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #429 is an hour of visionary acoustic improv music played by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute and acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars, Robin Rooney on djimbe, percussion and vocals, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on native drum.  Recorded live on a freezing January afternoon, today’s show begins with the rich, entrancing “Now Is The Moment To Be All That You Are”, a plaintive song of encouragement driven by Mariam’s chiming 12-string acoustic guitar.  “Golden Rays” is a beautiful minor folk ballad with rich Eastern European overtones and “Have A Lovely Life” is a powerful rock song expressing awareness and power of self, led by Mariam’s powerful acoustic guitar and expressive, jazzy piano phrases from Bob.  “Little Bitty One” belies its name with a sprawling, 23 minute footprint, and is a powerful, steadily intensifying journey through rock, native music, classical and spoken word.  We finish today with Mariam’s goddess song “Isis” to honor the 33rd anniversary of WiseWays Herbals.
