Current State of the Market Part II with Thomas Balis, CFA

On this week’s episode of Financial Planning: Explained, host Michael Menninger, CFP is joined again by Thomas Balis, CFA. Thomas is the founder and chief investment officer of Cornerstone Portfolio Research. Cornerstone is the team that Mike’s firm uses as their outsourced Chief Investment Officers, as they serve in the role of assisting Mike’s team in making investment decisions for their client’s managed portfolios.

In Part II of this series, Thomas and Mike touch on the 800-pound gorilla in the room – inflation.  From there, they discuss the causes of record inflationary, and what and why the Fed is raising interest rates to combat inflation.  They also discuss the current state of the market and economy, as well as the many issues affecting them.  These issues include second quarter earnings reports, the job market, and what to expect moving forward. This is a timely and very informative episode regarding the markets and the economy.
