Ni Riada defends Irish language translation costs

The Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni has defended the cost of translating EU parliament documents and meetings into the Irish language. She refutes claims that Irish is the most expensive of the EU’s twenty four official languages, when it comes to translating EU material. Recent Irish media reports have said the cost of translating EU parliament documents into Irish was almost twice the average rate for all languages. However Ms Ni Riada, who regularly speaks Irish in the Parliament, says that’s simply not the case.
