Vicki Clark, an in-demand leadership consultant and coach, joined me today in an intimate and honest conversation about loss, letting go, accepting help, and being reborn. Her story takes us from living the American dream, to a complete life and mental breakdown, to rebirth through the painful embrace of loss and release. As if that wasn’t enough for one lifetime, like so many others, Vicki’s life and livelihood was upended by Covid-19 and she was forced to, once again, let go of a reality she knew to navigate an unknown path to unknown territory. That path led her to create an online community called Let’s Talk About It & Do Something, which was originally intended to be an experience for women looking to level-up and sharpen their leadership skills. But when Breonna Taylor & George Floyd were killed, Vicki faced a new crossroads. One that forced her to look at her own life and experiences as an African American woman and courageously find a new, more powerful voice to would help her community engage in the kind of respectful, hard conversations that are so necessary for true transformation. Fearing that the “new Vicki” could lead her to, once again, lose it all, Vicki was greeted with the opposite. Almost overnight her online community went from a few hundred to over 6,000 members.

She shares the key piece of advice that helped her finally let go of the painful loss she’d experienced and what happened once she did. How she’s faced tragedy and found empowerment. And what she’s learned about rolling with whatever comes her way and landing on her feet.
