On the eve of the release of his second motion picture, Glassland, director Gerard Barrett joins Jarlath to discuss his incredible journey from a Kerry primary school class of just two people, to being one of the fastest rising stars in the film world with numerous awards to his name at the age of 27. Gerard tells Jarlath about the cheeky letter that helped him to sign with his first UK agent, the sacrifices, the absurdly ambitious goals that he set himself, how a Credit Union loan allowed him to get his foot in Hollywood's door and the stroke that gained him entry to the Galway Film Fleadh despite being a relative unknown.
