The Greek Philosopher Socrates wrote, “Beware the barrenness of a busy life.” Considering this was written in the rather less than hectic period around 425 BC, the busy life of today must be totally barren! The word barren, usually applied to land, means unproductive, unfruitful and a place of stunted growth. Is this a true description of your busy life, especially if you are a woman? My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Yvonne Tally, knows that feeling well. As a successful career woman, it was Yvonne’s own struggles with life balance that landed her in the ER and ultimately fueled her curiosity to develop methods and techniques to live a more sane and balanced life.
Yvonne Tally has been a healthy lifestyle coach for nearly twenty years. She is a co-founder of Poised Inc., which, among many other things, offers Pilates training to cancer survivors through the Stanford University Cancer Center, and the founder of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarves, a charity that provides headscarves to cancer patients. She is the Meditation and De-Stressing Specialist for the city of Palo Alto, California.
