Mid-Session 1 Mar 19: Solid start to March

After recording its best monthly gain since July 2016 in February, the Australian sharemarket is edging higher by 0.4% at lunch on Friday. Despite being among the strongest improvers last month, mining and energy stocks are weighing heavily.
