US Pre-Close 21 Dec 18: S&P 500 hits 15-month low

The US sharemarket is experiencing yet another volatile session, with the S&P 500 at a 15-month low and on track to have its worst month since Feb 2009. Risks of a US government shutdown, the US-China trade dispute and the Fed flagging two additional rate hikes in 2019 are weights. Keep in mind US equities hit record highs in October.
