Bonds v shares: US markets split on rate expectations

Australian shares are climbing this morning after local and US markets closed flat last week. Following the release of US inflation data on Friday we're seeing a split in bond and share markets over rate cut expectations. Shares rallied as investors see no impediment to further rate cuts, while bond yields rose, suggesting those investors see fewer US rate cuts ahead.
