Ash Wednesday, a day which marks the start of the season of Lent in the church year. Lent is a slower, more solemn time in which we focus on repentance. That means we slow down to think about our sins, and the terrible price we owe because of them...but also in which we think about our Savior Jesus Christ giving the ultimate act of love - his life and death in our place, so that we could be with him for eternity in heaven.
