It was getting late, but business in Rocky's Tambourine Cafe is still booming. Rocky steps over to help behind the bar when he sees her come in the front door. She was young, pretty, and about twenty two or twenty three years old, wearing a brown suit with hat and gloves to match. She glances around nervously, then sees what she wants and heads for a back table where a guy about her age is finishing up his fifth double bourbon. Right away, a big argument starts and Rocky moves toward the table. Rocky asks "Anything I can do, lady?' She says "I'm most sorry, Monsieur. Please Jacques, we must go, the gentleman will help you". Jacques says "I do not need help, I know what I must do". Rocky asks "What is he talking about?" She says "He does not know what he's saying. If you would to assist him to a taxi". Rocky says "Sure, you're all right Jacques, everything's all right, here we go". As Rocky is helping him out the door, Jacques is saying "Do not touch me, let me go". Then, Jacques passes out. She says "Jacques, please". Rocky says "He can't hear you, lady. He's had one too many and passed out. There's a cot back in back in my office, we'll put him there for a while". She asks "Oh are you sure he will be all right?" Rocky says "Sure, all he needs is some sleep. You just run along, I'll let you know when he feels better". She says "Very well, Monsieur, I am Roxanne Beloit. Jacques is my husband. I will be in our room at the Hotel Royale. You will call then?" Rocky says "Sure, just don't worry". Roxanne says "Thank you. Thank you so much". Rocky and a couple of his waiters carry Jacques and lay him down on the cot. As Rocky starts back toward his bar, his phone starts ringing. Rocky answers it and says "Tambourine, Jordan speaking". Rocky hears a sinister laugh on the line. The voice says "It has been a long time, a very long time. Has it not, Jordan? Time is running out. Start counting the hours and minutes..."
