It's the middle of the 50s and the Cold War is in full swing, Turkey is safely within NATO's grasp alongside its friendly neighbour Greece, with whom it has pretty good relations. Then the issue of decolonisation and specifically Cyprus comes up, with some on the Island favouring unification or "Enosis" with Greece. This new tension offers the third (for now) Superpower in the world Britain a chance to save itself from diplomatic embarrassment which sets off a series of events that lead to tragedy in the form of the Istanbul Pogrom. Find out the ins and outs of the event, what the level of government involvement was and whether there's an Operation Gladio related twist to it all.
