Staff from Pure Gym have teamed together with Sir Chris Hoy to relay cycle from Aberdeen to Plymouth via Pure Gyms throughout the UK.  This is to raise funds for Mental Health UK. The teams have already raised £250,000 and this cycle relay aims to raise still more money.

The recent Glitter Pick run through the Environment Team of Aberdeen City Council has been hailed a success.  The Glitter Pick involved 548 participants, 46 individual litter picks and 321 bags. Councillor John Wheeler said "These organised events really make a huge difference to local communities and help foster a bit of pride in our beautiful city."

Emily Barclay who suffered from anorexia and spent long spells in hospital is now able to fulfil her life ambition to train as a physiotherapist at RGU in Aberdeen . She credits this to the amazing help and care she received at St Aubin's Care Home.  The facility is run by VSA.  Gail Smith who runs the centre made it clear that this was in no small part due to Emily.  "Emily has done so well to get to this point.... She has done the majority of the work to get to this point herself. "

A BBC style quiz game along the lines of 'Call My Bluff' will see members of the public unravel the derivations of Doric words and phrases.  The quiz is part of the Across The Grain Festival being run across Aberdeenshire.
