Episode 13: Meet Maddy Bolt: Marine Biologist, World Traveller, Sailor & Diver

Meet Maddy Bolt - a woman who has the drive, grounding and initiative to accomplish whatever she puts in her path. From a very young age she has felt a bond with the ocean and being surrounded by water; growing up in Toronto, Canada didn’t offer much support for that passion but travels around the world brought her closer to it with surfing and sailing. 

Maddy studied at the University of British Columbia where she majored and wrote an honors thesis on Marine Biology. During her summers she would work in the Caribbean and Tofinio, Canada as a sailing, diving and marine biology instructor and educator while also working with youth in the outdoors. 

An all around incredible human to chat with, who has sailed incredible places and one day wants to challenge herself to a solo sailing trip - she has sailed from the Galapagos islands to Tahiti and beyond! She currently on a solo cycling trip across Eastern Canada to raise money for the upcoming youth program she’s hosting. OceanFolx Program is a femme-focused sailing, surfing and sustainability camp for youth taking place in Lombok, Indonesia April 2024.
