Here is another story, retold, of how Cupid fell in love with Psyche. Soul in Darkness by Wendy Higgins adds a different flare to the age old mythology of the God of love and desire. In a fit of jealousy and rage, Venus sets a curse upon Psyche, as her beauty and kindness begins to overshadow the Goddess’ own beauty and offerings. She sends her son, Cupid, to shoot his arrow at Psyche when she sees the pig farmer in an attempt to embarrass and shame her. But Cupid pricks himself when he is stunned by Psyche’s beauty and graciousness. Both now cursed by Venus, Cupid must make Psyche fall in love with him before the time is up and not without a lot of rules to abade. But will they make it?
