This rings true for today’s guest, Sylvia. The BRCA gene, which causes cancer when a mutation happens, was detected in her mother, who eventually died of ovarian cancer. Sylvia got tested, and it turns out she has the BRCA gene too. In 2020, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, which was a turning point for her when it came to taking care of her health, asking important questions, and being more self-aware.
